My paintings are focused on a personal iconography and palette that I’ve developed over the years.
I’m drawn to the mysterious quality of symbols in art. My imagery comes from many sources—whatever captures my imagination. Images in my paintings could be from old family photos, objects in windows, images drawn on a wall, or even sometimes figures in a dream. Pattern is also an important element in my work, and paint gives me the greatest flexibility in terms of that, as well as color and texture. I also paint because I love the process, as well as the satisfaction when a painting feels like a success.
